Bowmore 21 Years Château Lagrange is the second release in the French Oak series — a single malt fully matured in ex-Château Lagrange casks crafted from French oak sourced from the Grand Cru classé Bordeaux estate. This is no casual partnership: it unites two legacies, that of Bowmore (founded in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal, Islay's oldest working distillery) and one of Bordeaux's most prestigious châteaux.

Maturation in French oak sets this 21-year-old apart from the typical bourbon or sherry-aged expressions. Expect refinement over drama — French oak delivers subtler wood influence and a more structured palate than its American counterpart.

On the nose, tobacco and leather lead, followed by dried fruit, minerals and a whiff of iodine. The palate weaves toffee, ginger and briny notes with citrus and dark berries. The finish stretches long and pleasant, with oak tones fading gracefully.

This is Islay whisky for those who want the island's signature smoky, iodine-tinged character — but dressed in a more refined frame.
