TB/BSW Thompson Brothers
Chivas Regal 12 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky whose story stretches back to 1801, when John Forrest opened a grocery in Aberdeen. The business was later taken over by brothers James and John Chivas, who in 1909 created their signature luxury blend — a whisky designed to captivate American high society. This 12-year expression represents decades of blending craft, marrying Speyside single malts with smooth grain whisky, all matured in traditional oak.
Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, the sixth in Chivas's line of blending masters, has calibrated this bottling for balance rather than drama. The blend draws on fruity and floral malts tempered by a refined grain component, creating a whisky that feels both complete and understated.
On the nose, gentle sweetness emerges alongside ripe melon, citrus, and honey. The palate shows vanilla, caramel, green apple, and pear, with a thread of herbal spice and oak running through. The finish is clean and measured—a whisky that rewards sipping without demanding attention.
