Anthology The Harpy's Tale

Special Release
The Dalmore introduced the original Cigar Malt in 1999, a single malt specifically engineered as the ideal companion to the world's finest cigars. This Reserve expression builds on that vision with approximately 70% Oloroso sherry cask maturation, the remainder American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a whisky that bridges both worlds: the full, fruity richness of aged sherry alongside the vanilla and soft oak character of bourbon.
The nose is creamy and generous, with pronounced brown sugar and caramel notes supported by biscuity malt. On the palate, toffee and fudge lead, followed by sherry-driven orange peel and plums, while espresso and lightly burnt caramel provide bitter counterpoint. The finish is warm and lingering, with cocoa and nutmeg rounding out the experience.
This is a whisky for ritual and leisure—not haste. The balance between sherry's depth and bourbon's sweetness makes it genuinely suited to cigars, yet substantial enough to stand alone.
