59.1%

Octomore 09.1 is a statement: five years old, yet peated to 156 ppm—among the most heavily peated whiskies in the world. Bruichladdich, resurrected in 2001, deployed this bottling to prove that age is not destiny. Premium barley varieties and meticulous distillation craft a whisky of serious character, matured in American oak.

The nose reveals smoky malt with earthy, soil-like undertones. On the palate, a warm oily mouthfeel arrives immediately: malt leads, followed by caramel and toffee, layered with coconut and deeper smoky notes. The finish is intense and lingering.
