Bruichladdich, founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers on Islay, reopened in 2001 under new ownership and was acquired by Rémy Cointreau in 2012. The distillery operates beyond the standard whisky-making model: it sources primarily Scottish barley, experiments across cask types, and publishes detailed information about its recipes and blend composition.

The nose leads with pronounced malt. On the palate, smoky and burnt notes emerge, underscored by the bottle's robust 61.3% ABV. The finish is long and spicy, characteristic of Bruichladdich's direct, uncompromising house style.
