Writers' Tears was founded in 2007 by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh to champion the Irish whiskey renaissance. The name draws from Ireland's Golden Age of literature around 1900, when Dublin stood as a global centre of culture and creativity. This Cask Strength 2022 is an annual release honouring that literary legacy by selecting only the finest distillates available.

This dram blends Single Pot Still and Single Malt Irish whisky—barley only, no grain component. Matured in American oak casks and non-chill filtered to preserve full character. Each bottle is individually numbered and signed by Bernard Walsh, underscoring the craft and care behind this release.

The nose reveals sweet malt, caramel, and subtle citrus with hints of honey and vanilla. On the palate, apple, plum, and peach emerge alongside lingering caramel sweetness. The finish balances sweetness with dryness, as damp oak develops gradually with time.
