Rye
Pikesville Rye carries the story of American whiskey's oldest rye tradition. Originally produced in Maryland in the 1890s, the brand was lost to Prohibition. Heaven Hill Distillery resurrected this historic expression, now distilled in Kentucky using extra-aged barrels selected from prime warehouse locations, keeping Maryland rye heritage alive.
The mashbill—51% rye, 35% corn, 14% malted barley—creates a spicy backbone balanced by corn sweetness. Aged a minimum of six years in new American white oak and bottled at a full 55% ABV, it delivers substance without harshness.
The whiskey presents a rich amber hue. The nose opens with vanilla, honeysuckle, and subtle menthol. The palate leads with butterscotch and honeysuckle, followed by aged oak, cocoa, and a touch of mint. A persistent finish carries spice and warmth, with hints of red fruit and the charred oak character that defines well-made American rye.
