Johnnie Walker Black Label traces its roots to 1820, when John Walker opened a grocer's shop in Kilmarnock, Scotland. What began as a small venture where he blended different whisky stocks to achieve consistency evolved into a global brand. The Black Label designation marks this expression within the iconic Johnnie Walker lineup.
This blend of over 30 malt and grain whiskies sourced across Scotland draws its character from the Four Corners of Scotland: Clynelish (Highlands), Cardhu (Speyside), Talisker (Islands), and Glenkinchie (Lowlands). All components are matured for a minimum of 12 years before the final blend is bottled at 40% ABV.
The whisky presents a warm golden-amber hue. On the nose, malt and ginger lead, with underlying notes of stone fruit and honey. The palate arrives soft, opening with caramel and vanilla, followed by sweet apple and barley sugar. The finish is notably fruity and lingering, with white pepper, dry oak, and a subtle smoky thread that reflects the blend's multi-distillery composition.
