Ten High was launched in the 1930s by Hiram Walker & Sons, the Detroit grocer who had earlier created Canadian Club. The brand thrived as a popular budget bourbon through the mid-20th century before passing through several owners — from Hiram Walker to Heaven Hill, then to Barton Distilling. The current version is a blended bourbon, a shift that has sparked debate among bourbon enthusiasts about whether it still deserves the bourbon label.

This 4-year-old blend uses a 51/49 ratio and bottles at 43% ABV. The profile is deliberately modest — light and drinkable, without pretension. The nose offers vanilla and caramel with hints of spice and a rye-forward backdrop; the palate is thin, with vanilla and oak notes that fade quickly. The finish is short, with light spice that vanishes fast.
