Johnnie Walker White Walker Game of Thrones
Antiquary
The Antiquary takes its name from Sir Walter Scott's 1816 gothic novel and was registered as a brand in 1888 by brothers John and William Hardie, Edinburgh wine merchants. This Victorian blend, now owned by Tomatin, stands as one of Scotland's oldest blends with a literary pedigree.
The blend draws a high proportion of Highland and Speyside malts (45%) combined with Lowland grains, plus a dash of Islay malt for subtle smokiness. The 12-year-old expression has matured in fine oak casks sourced from France, Portugal and Spain, delivering distinct depth.
The glass reveals a deep golden hue with honey and vanilla notes complemented by citrus aromas and a hint of sherry influence. On the palate, stewed apple and caramel emerge alongside gentle oak spice, finishing dry with citrus and a waxy wood polish. This is a balanced, approachable dram — not showy, but carefully crafted and quietly assured.
