Tullamore D.E.W. takes its name from Daniel Edmund Williams (1848–1921), the general manager and later owner who transformed the brand into one of Ireland's most successful whiskeys. The original distillery was established in 1829 in Tullamore, County Offaly, at the heart of Ireland.
This is a blended Irish whiskey built from three distinct distillates: pot still whiskey, grain whiskey, and malt whiskey, each triple-distilled. The blend is matured and finished across multiple cask types, primarily ex-bourbon barrels supplemented with ex-sherry casks, creating a balanced maturation profile.
The nose shows vanilla and caramel with subtle floral notes. On the palate, it arrives light and smooth, with green apple and a hint of spice, underpinned by malty character. The finish is short and silky, with minimal alcohol burn. This is an approachable whiskey whose appeal rests on simplicity and refinement.
