Tamnavulin Celebrates 60 Years with Rare 25-Year-Old Single Malt

Tamnavulin, located in Scotland's Speyside region, marks its 60th anniversary with the Tamnavulin 25 Year Old Diamond Anniversary Limited Edition. This exceptional whisky was distilled in 2000 during a rare six-week production window when the distillery briefly reopened, having been largely dormant since closing in 1995.

This cask strength whisky (51.8% ABV) spent 20 years maturing in American oak casks, followed by a five-year finish in a Moscatel cask. The 700 ml bottling represents a remarkable piece of distillery history, with only 290 bottles released, making it highly exclusive.

On the nose, expect aromas of citrus, vanilla, and pear. The palate delivers rich notes of dark chocolate, citrus, and heather honey, with hints of caramel and liquorice. The finish brings citrus, caramel, hazelnut, and peppery spice. This release appeals to collectors and enthusiasts seeking a whisky with genuine historical significance and the complexity that comes from thoughtful cask management.
