Old Pulteney Celebrates 200 Years of Coastal Whisky-Making

Old Pulteney marks a historic milestone in 2026: two centuries of single malt production on Scotland's rugged northern coast. To honour this achievement, Pulteney Distillery unveils a limited-edition anniversary release that celebrates 200 years of whisky craftsmanship. This 10-year-old Highland single malt is a tribute to the distinctive maritime character of Wick, where Old Pulteney has been distilled since 1826.

Maturation and Composition

This special release follows an innovative maturation approach. The whisky was first matured in American oak ex-Bourbon casks, then refined in both ex-Manzanilla and ex-Oloroso casks. Bottled at 48% ABV with a golden hue, this dram represents a new direction for Old Pulteney while remaining true to its coastal character and heritage.

Tasting Profile

On the nose, vanilla, citrus, spiced dried fruits and polished oak emerge, lifted by a distinctive saline edge. The palate beautifully combines crème caramel, rich vanilla, lemon zest, salted chocolate and cinnamon, finishing with a balanced interplay of caramel, honey and salt. This sweet-and-salty finish perfectly reflects the maritime heritage that defines Old Pulteney's identity.
