Lagavulin introduces a new permanent expression: the 11 Year Old Sweet Peat. This Islay single malt is aged in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks and brings a refined balance between Lagavulin's characteristic peatiness and a pleasant sweetness derived from oak and malt.

Lagavulin introduces a new permanent expression: the 11 Year Old Sweet Peat. This Islay single malt marks a refined addition to the renowned distillery's portfolio, offering an elegant balance between Lagavulin's characteristic peatiness and a pleasant sweetness that sets it apart from typical Islay releases.

Aged in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks, the whisky derives its sweetness from both oak and malt, creating a more rounded and complex profile. At eleven years old, this single malt has matured sufficiently to achieve a harmonious character development while maintaining the robust Islay identity that Lagavulin is celebrated for.

The nose reveals citrus, honey, and smoke with hints of medicinal notes and pear. The palate delivers caramel and toffee alongside honey, pepper, and dried spices, with smoke weaving throughout. The finish presents toffee, oak, pepper, and the characteristic smoke of Islay.

This release appeals to whisky enthusiasts who appreciate Islay's intensity but seek the refinement that first-fill American oak brings to the table.
