Decadent Drinks releases a refined 21-year-old Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, launched in January 2026. This limited bottling of just 296 bottles presents a contemporary take on what we expect from this acclaimed distillery – a whisky that balances elegance and character with remarkable poise.

Matured in first-fill Oloroso and PX butts and hogshead, this expression reaches 55% ABV. The sherry influence is notably clean and intense, never overwhelming the spirit. This is a whisky with active wood influence that is clearly present, yet contributes in a measured, harmonious way to the overall profile.

The nose reveals a beautiful equilibrium between dry and sweet sherry notes, with red berries, plums, and strawberry jam, complemented by cedarwood, cinnamon, and nutmeg. On the palate, spice takes centre stage: nutmeg, black pepper, and walnuts dominate, with pleasant leather and roasted hazelnut notes. The finish is long and drying, with chocolate and herbs lingering.
