Blue Hanger 26 Years 14th Release

Berry Bros & Rudd has reintroduced their esteemed Blue Hanger Blended Malt after more than a decade, with the 14th Release: a refined 26-year-old blend crafted from seven casks, including six ex-bourbon hogsheads and one ex-sherry butt. This release is a celebration of classic Scottish blending, providing a full-bodied, oily whisky experience that is sure to captivate enthusiasts.

The whisky was meticulously crafted by Berry Bros & Rudd's current Spirits Curator, Felix Dear, who states that the demand for a new edition never ceased. The 14th Edition is their response, showcasing exceptional aged malts that honor the Blue Hanger legacy. While the specific distilleries involved remain undisclosed, it is confirmed that the oldest whisky in the blend is a remarkable 34 years old.

Tasting Notes

The nose offers vibrant notes of orange zest alongside sweet, honeyed cereals and a hint of cloves. The palate is thick and oily, featuring sweet brioche buns, charred oak, soft caramel, and espresso notes, together with warming baking spices. The finish is medium in length, presenting lingering spices, meringues, and a touch of lemon drizzle.
