Mac-Talla, meaning 'echo' in Scottish Gaelic, is an Islay single malt from Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, a company rooted in four generations of island heritage. This limited Cognac cask finish was created to mark Fèis Ìle's 40th anniversary—the Islay Festival that draws whisky enthusiasts from across the globe each May. Matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and finished in Cognac casks, bottled at cask strength (52.4% ABV) without chill filtration or colouring. This preserves the whisky's full, natural character. The nose opens with sweet almond, pastry notes and orchard fruit. The palate layers toffee, vanilla and soft spice with restrained peat smoke, building to a warming, dry finish with hints of port and dried fruit.
