The name references the village and harbour on Islay's northeast coast — historically the island's gateway. Rather than chasing intensity alone, Port Askaig pursues balance between smoke, fruit, and refinement. This 3-year-old expression has been matured in American oak casks. Its youth preserves the characteristic Islay signature — maritime air and mineral earthiness — without the softening that extended wood aging brings. The profile retains the vibrancy young Islay malt possesses. On the nose, peaty and briny notes emerge, joined by dried fruit.
