Green River Full Proof Wheated Bourbon is a small batch of select barrels, blended and bottled at barrel strength. This expression builds on Green River's signature wheated recipe—70% corn, 21% wheat, 9% malted barley—and delivers a more robust, intense take on the distillery's core whiskey. The nose shows rich caramel that borders on toffee, with cinnamon, pipe tobacco, and roasted grain notes emerging. On the palate, the sweet foundation develops into buttercream and vanilla pudding, but with more grip and heat than the standard wheated version. The finish turns drier and spicier, offering aged leather, light cinnamon, baked bread, and a touch of oak—the fade is quicker, but leaves a pleasant peppery edge. Green River, Kentucky's tenth-oldest licensed distillery (founded 1885), has long been known as "The Whiskey Without Regrets." This full proof release strips away the water-down compromise, letting the wheated mashbill speak in full voice—each batch varies slightly in proof depending on barrel selection.
