Robert Fleischmann is a pioneering figure in German whisky history, widely recognized as the founder of Blaue Maus, the first single malt whisky distillery in Germany. Fleischmann began his distilling journey in 1980 with a brandy wine distillery on the premises of the original family company. It was not until 1983 that he turned his attention to whisky, experimenting with distilling a beer mash — a step that would mark the beginning of German single malt production.
