Manage Your Collection

Your collection is the heart of your WhiskyCircle profile. Here you track which whiskies you've tasted, own or still want to try. Build your personal whisky library!

Collection categories

You can place whiskies in three categories:

Tasted
Whiskies you've tasted. Add a review to record your experience!
Owned
Bottles you actually have. Handy for keeping track of what's in your cabinet.
Wishlist
Whiskies you still want to try. Perfect for inspiration for your next purchase.

Adding a whisky

Search for the whiskyUse the search bar at the top of the app. You can search by name, distillery or region.

Open the detail pageClick on the whisky to view all information.

Click the + iconChoose whether you've tasted the whisky, own it or want to add it to your wishlist.

You can place a whisky in multiple categories. For example: tasted and owned, or tasted and on the wishlist (for when you want more!)

Collection statistics

On your profile page you'll see statistics about your collection:

  • Total number of whiskies in your collection
  • Distribution across regions (Speyside, Islay, etc.)
  • Average age of your whiskies
  • Your top-rated whiskies

Whisky not found?

Our selection is continuously growing, but sometimes a whisky is missing. You can add it yourself:

Search for the whiskyType the name in the search bar. Not listed?

Click "Add manually"This option appears at the bottom of the search results.

Fill in the detailsName, distillery and optionally age or ABV.
Note about manual whiskies

Self-added whiskies are only visible in your own collection. Other users can't see them. Is the whisky later available in our catalogue? Then you can link them via "Find matches" in your collection.

Privacy per bottle

By default your collection is visible to your friends, but you have full control:

Entire collection
Set in your profile whether your collection is public, friends only, or private.
Per bottle
Want to keep a specific bottle hidden? Tap the bottle → settings and set the visibility to private.

Collection vs. Review

What's actually the difference? Simply put:

Collection
Tracking what you have (owned, tasted, wishlist). Purely administrative — like a digital whisky cabinet.
Review
Recording what you thought of it. Score, tasting notes, flavour tags. Contributes to your taste profile and helps others.

You can have a whisky in your collection without a review — and vice versa. But the combination gives the best picture of your whisky journey!
