Wellfield

Wellfield Distillery was established in 1830 by William Galloway in the Lowland region of Scotland. Located near the village of Auchtermuchty, the distillery operated for over a century before closing its doors in 1930. During its operational years, Wellfield was known for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship, reflecting the traditional methods of Lowland whisky production. The distillery had a production capacity that catered to local and regional demands, employing pot stills that were typical of the era. Wellfield's whiskies were characterized by their light and floral notes, a signature style of Lowland whiskies, making them approachable for both novice and experienced whisky drinkers. Though now closed, the legacy of Wellfield lives on through the historical records and the appreciation of its once-celebrated expressions.
