Glenmavis Distillery, located in the Lowland region of Scotland, was founded in 1783. Renowned for its historical significance, the distillery operated for over a century before closing its doors in 1910. Originally established by a local entrepreneur, it changed ownership several times throughout its operational years, contributing to the evolving character of the whisky produced there. With an annual production capacity of 200,000 liters, Glenmavis was equipped with traditional pot stills, which contributed to the creation of a distinct Lowland style whisky. The spirit produced at Glenmavis was known for its light, floral notes and gentle sweetness, typical of the Lowland whiskies, appealing to a wide range of palates. Although the distillery is no longer in operation, the legacy of its whisky endures, remembered for its delicate character and historical importance in the Scotch whisky landscape.
