Bowertower

Bowertower Distillery is located in the Highland region of Scotland and was founded in 1826 by John Oal. The distillery had a short operational history, closing its doors just five years later in 1831. Although its existence was brief, Bowertower is part of Scotland's rich whisky heritage and reflects the early aspirations of whisky-making in the Highlands. The distillery was equipped with traditional copper pot stills, typical of the period, which contributed to the character of the whisky produced. Although no bottles from Bowertower are available today, it is believed that the whisky had a robust and complex flavor profile, likely reflecting the rich natural resources of the Highland region. The closure of the distillery means that Bowertower is now a historical curiosity, emblematic of the challenges faced by early whisky producers in Scotland.
