Auchroisk was established in 1972 by Justerini & Brooks as a production facility for blended malts, but evolved into a respected single malt distillery in its own right. This 20-year-old natural cask strength expression demonstrates the maturity Speyside whisky can achieve without artificial colouring or chill-filtration. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, this whisky develops the full, waxy character Auchroisk is known for. At 58.10% ABV, it offers an unfiltered, robust experience that reveals the complete spectrum of two decades of ageing. On the nose, a full malty foundation emerges with apple and cider notes, underpinned by vanilla and caramel from the wood. The palate is substantial and complex, with peppery oak spice playing against natural fruitiness. The finish is long and dry, with oak and spice having the final say.
