Bowmore 2005 21 Year Old – The Whisky Jury

This single malt is 21 years old and bottled at natural strength without chill filtration. The nose is bright and full of tropical fruits—pineapple and passion fruit dominate, complemented by mineral notes, sea spray, and subtle smoke. On the palate, a mineral, austere character emerges with stone dust and herbal notes, but the tropical fruits quickly take centre stage with pineapple, passion fruit, lime, and guava. A zesty grapefruit bitterness adds balance and complexity.

The finish delivers good length, with fruity sweetness, mineral notes, citrus zest, and pepper. This is an excellent bottling that perfectly captures Bowmore's duality: mineral and austere, yet elegant and fruity. Given the limited availability, this release deserves your attention.
